100 Kata Day!

I am feeling pretty chuffed because yesterday I completed the 100 Kata Day challenge.  This included a few round of Shushi no Kon with the Bo.

I've also completed 10 hours towards my yellow chevron and I'm starting to map out some long term Bo and karate goals.  Black belt?  Black chevron?  There's so much awesome karate "stuff" in my future.

Update and some awesome news!

Yesterday I went to the Queensland State Titles for the National All Styles Martial Arts tournament and I came 1st for forms, 2nd for continuous sparring and 3rd for creative weaponry.  I am so chuffed with my results.  Especially for weapons!  After only training with the Bo since April this year, placing in that event was a huge shock and I am so thrilled.

Now - training plan for my yellow chevron and Nationals in December!  I am going to select a technique from the list each week and work on it for 15 minutes to half an hour each morning before a few rounds of kata.  Plus that with 2 full lessons a week and a lesson on Friday night with my Sensei.  That'll get me ready.

Update

So this is going a little slower than I expected.  I thought that I would be able to get more time in once uni finished but work takes up so much of my time.

I have cracked the 6 hour mark though.  Only 30 hours to go until yellow chevron!  This coming week I am going to aim for 15 minutes a morning and half an hour Saturday and Sunday.  Not massive but achievable.

Let's do it!
